My friend introduced me to The See’s Method. At first, I hesitated to join the class because I can’t read Mandarin but my friend told me that I still can follow the class as long as I can understand it verbally. 

I am glad that I enrolled in the class. Although I don’t understand fully what the teacher said in the class but I make use of what I understand to teach my child. It’s ashamed that there are some activities which I cannot carry out with my child like telling story in Mandarin or make sentences from the words given. This has not stopped me from applying the method in teaching my child English. 

For Mandarin, I started him of with the flash cards. On average, I spend about 15 minutes daily to help my child to recognize the Chinese characters. It has been fruitful although it was tough at first.

                        The See’s Method

                        Of which I hesitate at first

                        After much convincing

I am into it.

Of which I struggle at first

After many attempts

I enjoy it very much.

Of which I don’t think I have time for

After much practice

It has become part of me and my child

I don’t think we can live without it!
